Dubai Run 2025: Road Closures, Toll Changes, Routes & Registration Details Explained

Dubai Run 2025 is one of the biggest community events in the UAE. Now, it is set to return this Sunday, i.e, 23rd of November 2025. Hence, it transforms Sheikh Zayed Road into the largest free-running track in the world.  However, the annual event attracts hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Thus, it makes a key highlight in the fitness calendar of the city. 

Stay tuned to learn about major road closures and revised Salik timings because countless people are gearing up for the event. 

What is Dubai Run 2025?

Since its launch, Dubai Run has grown into the largest free community run event in the world. Hence, it encourages residents to commit to the  Dubai Fitness Challenge’s 30 minutes of activity for 30 days initiative.  Moreover, the best part is that it is completely free and open to all ages. As a result, it is appealing to beginners, families, and seasoned runners.

This year, the organisers are offering two iconic routes. Below are the details about those routes:

5km Family Route

  • Starts near the Museum of the Future
  • Passes the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera
  • Ends near Dubai Mall
  • Perfect for families, children, and casual runners

10km Pro Route

  • Begins at the same point on Sheikh Zayed Road
  • Crosses the Dubai Canal Bridge
  • Loops back toward DIFC Gate
  • Designed for experienced runners

Both routes are offering unique opportunities to run on one of the biggest highways. However, it is something that only happens once a year. 

How to Register for Dubai Run 2025

With 2 days remaining for the event, registration is still open for the fitness event.However, T-shirt allocation is full for this event. Below is the list of steps to register for this event:

  • Provide your name, date of birth, gender, email, contact number, and city of residence
  • Add children if needed
  • Choose your route (5km or 10km)
  • Select your preferred starting time
  • Provide an emergency contact

If you are planning to participate, you are required to collect your bib from Zabeel Park Fitness Village before Saturday, November 22. Remember, you cannot access the Dubai Run without a bib. 

The event will start at 6:30 am. However, final starters are allowed to enter the marathon until 8 am. Moreover, the roads will reopen by 9 am. 

Dubai Run 2025 Road Closures: What the RTA Announced

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will implement a major traffic plan between 3 am and 10 am to safely accommodate thousands of runners. Below is the list of routes that will be fully or partially closed during the event:

  • Sheikh Zayed Road from Trade Centre Roundabout to Al Hadiq Road Bridge
  • Lower Financial Centre Street
  • One-way direction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard
  • One-way lane of Al Sukook Street
  • Parking areas parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road

The authority has also shared a list of alternative routes that you can use during closure:

  • Upper Financial Centre Street
  • Zabeel Palace Road
  • Al Wasl Road
  • Al Khail Road

Normal traffic flow is going to resume after 10 am. Therefore, motorists are suggested to plan ahead, leave early, and use public transport where possible.

Revised Salik Timings for November 23

Dubai Salik will also introduce temporary variable toll rates on the day of the event to support smoooth traffic flow. Below is the detail about the revised toll rates:

Peak Hours

  • 6 am to 10 am: Dh6
  • 4 pm to 8 pm: Dh4

Low-Peak Hours

  • 10 am to 4 pm: Dh4
  • 8 pm to 1 am: Dh4

Off-Peak Hours

  • 1 am to 6 am: Free

Drivers are requested to review the updated toll timings to avoid delays and peak congestion.
