Nidhi Agarwal Incident Sparks Alarm Over Celebrity Safety at Promotional Events

A recent incident involving popular actress Nidhi Agarwal has triggered serious discussions about celebrity safety, crowd control, and event management standards in India.  Reportedly, the actress had a deeply disturbing experience during a promotion event for her upcoming film, The Raja Saab, at Lulu Mall, Kukatpally (Hyderabad). The incident was so disturbing that it left her shaken and unable to sleep that night.

The event was held to promote the second single “Sahana… Sahana” from The Raja Sahab, starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi. Moreover, the event had naturally attracted a huge crowd due to the massive fan following of Prabhas. However, things spiralled out of control as Nidhi Agarwal exited the stage.

Videos circulating on social media show fans pushing, pulling, and touching the actress, while bouncers struggled to contain the situation. Unfortunately, the crowd surged forward despite the security presence, as it overwhelmed the guards. Somehow, Nidhi managed to escape and reach her car. Still, she looks visibly uncomfortable and distressed. The clips quickly went viral. Hence, it turned the incident into a trending topic across social platforms and entertainment news portals.

Industry Voices Call Out Poor Crowd Management

Celebrity manager Giridhar highlighted that such situations are completely avoidable with proper planning. Previously, he has organised multiple events featuring Nidhi Agarwal in Parvathipuram and Narsipatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

He emphasised that coordination with the venue management should be initiated at least 15 days in advance, crowd estimation and deploying sufficient bouncers are non-negotiable steps. Moreover, he suggests 30 to 40 trained bouncers forming a human chain to ensure the actress is safely escorted from the car to the venue and back.

He also highlighted that smaller towns also attract large crowds. It could sometimes exceed one lakh people, especially when promotions are aggressively marketed in local media.

Past Incidents Show a Pattern

Giridhar also recalled a similar incident involving actress Samantha in Tirupati, where a fan crossed boundaries and pulled her. He also cited a well-managed event with Sreeleela in Rajam as an example of how strong security can prevent chaos.  These examples highlight that celebrity safety should never be compromised.

Singer Chinmayi has strongly condemned the behaviour of the crowd in a viral post. She made her Telugu debut with Savyasachi (2018) and later gained major success with iSmart Shankar. However, some of her recent films underperformed. Plus, she is currently pinning high hopes on The Raja Saab, which is slated for a Sankranti 2026 release. This incident also highlights the importance of organised fan culture and professional event standards, especially during overseas promotion.

The Bigger Question: Who Is Responsible?

Reportedly, actresses charge between Rs. 10 lakh and 20 lakh for such events. However, remuneration alone cannot justify risking personal safety. Moreover, this incident is a wake-up call for event organisers, mall managements, and promoters to prioritise security, planning, and crowd discipline over publicity.

Respect is required to grow stronger, too, as fandom grows louder and larger. Hence, it is also a responsibility of fans to respect their celebrity’s privacy,
