The United Arab Emirates (UAE) experienced its coolest mornings of the season on Saturday as winter conditions of the UAE Weather intensified across the nation after widespread rainfall and a sharp drop in temperatures. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the lowest temperature of 3.5°C was recorded at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at midnight. Thus, it marks a significant winter milestone for the country.
Coldest Morning After Heavy Rainfall
The dramatic dip in temperatures came after a powerful weather system moved across the UAE from late Thursday into Friday, which brought heavy rain to several regions. Moreover, the NCM confirmed that scattered heavy rainfall on Saturday morning led to water accumulation in valleys and low-lying areas.
Meteorologists have explained that the extension of a low-surface system from the Red Sea has caused these weather conditions. Moreover, moist south-easterly winds and an upper-air low have supported such conditions. However, the impact of the system will continue to influence the weather conditions through the weekend.
Cooler Conditions to Persist Through the Weekend
According to the NCM, cooler air and unsettled weather will stay across the UAE until Sunday. Moreover, skies are expected to remain partly cloudy and cloudy at times. Moreover, there is still a chance of light and localised UAE rain, especially over northern, eastern, coastal, and island areas.
The UAE weather forecast for Sunday is generally partly cloudy. However, low clouds could form over coastal, western, and island regions. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly. However, it will stay cooler than seasonal averages.

- Coastal and island areas: Daytime highs between 20–23°C. Hence, it could drop to 12–16°C at night, with higher humidity levels.
- Internal regions: Daytime temperatures of 23–25°C, with nighttime lows of 11–15°C.
- Mountain areas: These regions will experience the coldest conditions, with daytime temperatures of 15–18°C and nighttime lows between 8–12°C
Humidity is expected to increase overnight and during early morning in some coastal and western areas. So, it could potentially create misty conditions.
Marine and Wind Conditions
The NCM has suggested caution for marine activities, as sea conditions will remain rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough to moderate in the Oman Sea. Moreover, the wind speed might reach up to 35km/h, especially during periods of bad weather. Hence, it could stir dust and reduce visibility in open areas.
