Dubai has once again taken centre stage on the UAE New Year Eve 2026 as the iconic Burj Khalifa fireworks 2026 set to headline the night. Thousands of visitors have already started arriving as early as the morning to secure prime viewing spots around Downtown Dubai, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and Burj Park. Plus, the festive atmosphere has been building steadily, as families and tourists are lining walkaways hours before the midnight countdown.
Besides popular beliefs, watching the Burj Khalifa fireworks does not always require expensive restaurant bookings. Moreover, the authorities have confirmed that there are free public viewing areas and ticketed premium zones, like Burj Park. Besides Burj Khalifa, fireworks will illuminate the sky around 40 locations across Dubai, including Global Village, Atlantis The Palm, Bluewaters Island, JBR, Dubai Festival City and Al Seef.

Road Closures, Metro and Transport Updates
Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have urged people to arrive early and plan routes in advance due to the heavy crowds. Moreover, phased road closures around Downtown Dubai started in the afternoon. However, key roads will start from 3 pm onwards. Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) has been designated a pedestrian-only zone from 4 pm. However, private vehicles are restricted, and access is monitored in real time.
Public transport is the preferred option. The Dubai Metro is operating a 43-hour non-stop service. Moreover, select bus routes to the Burj Khalifa area have been suspended to reduce congestion. Additionally, special New Year Eve ferry cruises are also operating to offer firework views from Dubai Marina, Al Ghubaiba and Bluewaters Island.

Nationwide Celebrations Across the UAE

Besides Dubai, other emirates are also hosting equally ambitious celebrations. Plus, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba is set to stage a marathon 62-minute fireworks display. However, it will be one of the longest in the world. The show will also feature 6,500 drones, giant aerial formations and attempts to break five Guinness World Records.
A 15-minute fireworks display will stretch across six kilometres of the coastline. Organisers are aiming for another world record with the launch of the largest firework ever, with more than 2,300 drones over Marjan Island and Al Hamra.
Fireworks are also planned in Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront, Abu Dhabi Corniche and several locations across the Northern Emirates. Therefore, it ensures nationwide celebrations.

Seven Countdowns and Drone Shows

Dubai’s Global Village is hosting seven New Year countdowns for those who are looking for something new. Hence, it will celebrate midnight moments in different countries throughout the world. The experience mixes fireworks, drone shows and cultural performances from China, Turkey, Thailand, India, and Pakistan. Moreover, the drone display will also debut in the Dubai Frame.
