Sharjah Safety: Emirate Achieves 99.7% Resident Satisfaction in Public Security

The Sharjah Safety survey demonstrates that an impressive 99.7 percent of people feel quite safe living in the beautiful Emirate of Sharjah in 2024. This impressive data has highlighted the commitment of Sharjah to create a secure and high-quality environment with the support of visionary leadership and a highly professional police force. 

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief, highlighted the achievement as a testament to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi’s (UAE Supreme Council Member and Sharjah Ruler) robust leadership. 

According to Abdullah, the continuous support and care from the leader have been crucial in enhancing the safety of the residents. In addition, it has developed police readiness and boosted the long-term security efforts. All these factors match with the goal of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to build a safe, stable, and high-quality nature. 

Leadership and Vision Behind Sharjah Safety Success

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer credits this achievement to the consistent and clear vision of the leader of this emirate, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, “Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi”, and Deputy Rulers “Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi” and “Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi”. 

He highlighted their role in creating a smart policy system, which enhances and ensures that police strategy focuses on community needs, alliances, and innovation. All these factors have contributed to making Sharjah one of the safest emirates. 

 Expert Policing: Police’s Role in Sharjah Safety 

Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Boualzoud (Director General of Criminal Security and Borders) mentioned that the police force of the emirate has kept top-tier operational readiness. He showed that the most recent data, with the power of trust and satisfaction of residents:

  • Trust in police stations: 96.7%
  • Community trust in Sharjah Police: 97%
  • Feeling safe at home at night: 99.3%
  • Feeling safe in public places at night: 99.3%
  • Feeling safe walking alone at night: 98.6%
  • Feeling safe in public places at night: 99.3%
  • Feeling safe on the  outside (driving or public transport): 98.9%

Brigadier Boualzoud shared that these high levels of safety and trust are not only just numbers. In addition, he said that these statistics are the result of a proactive and human-focused method to policing. 

Authority and Coordination Behind Sharjah Safety 

The close cooperation between many institutes is one of the reasons behind the success of Sharjah Safety. Major General bin Amer has extend his appreciation and thanks to the Sharjah Executive and Consultative Council for their constant support. 

Moreover, he recognized the efforts of the Department of Statistics and Community Development for their accurate and professional measurement of this data. In addition, he highlights that the achievement is the result of teamwork across many areas, like petrol officers, command staff, etc. All of them are working together towards a common goal, i.e, making the emirate safer every day. 

Community Trust: The Foundation of Sharjah Safety 

Top-tier policing is not only a result of making Sharjah the safest emirate. However, the ongoing efforts of residents have contributed enough to this achievement of the emirate. Indeed! You have guessed it right. The residents’ effort has also contributed to this accomplishment. 

Major General bin Amer has also credited the awareness and cooperation of the residents for achieving this goal. He said that their commitment to following laws and working with the police has played an important role in keeping safety and making Sharjah where anyone like you could enjoy a quality of life. 

With this data, Sharjah has set a global example of what can be achieved when public trust, institutional coordination, and public trust join together.
