The Dubai Municipality has completed numerous large-scale affordable housing and landscape projects across the emirate in the first half of 2025. This has taken a strong step toward sustainability and urban beautification.
The project covers more than 3 million square feet and is valued at AED 190 million. Moreover, these campaigns have helped establish the city’s mission to develop a green and more livable urban environment under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
Dubai Municipality planted over 300,000 Trees in Key Dubai Locations.

More than 300000 trees and seedlings have been planted in 222,500 sq. metres of ground covers and flowers. However, these green corridors are spread across the high-traffic intersections and highway roads. The list of key areas is mentioned below:
- Al Khail Road × Latifa bint Hamdan Street
- Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street × Tripoli Street
- Sheikh Rashid Street (from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street to Al Mina Road)
- Sheikh Zayed Road (7th Interchange)
- Al Khawaneej Street × Al Amardi Street
These green settings are a rare addition to aesthetics. Moreover, it is a part of the carefully developed urban greenery system that is designed for long-term visual and environmental impact.
Landscaping and Smart Irrigation
Dubai municipality has demonstrated its horticulture and engineering expertise by installing smart and IoT-enabled irrigation systems. Last year alone, the municipality planted 216,500 trees, which is an average of 600 trees a day. The green space of Dubai expanded to 391.5 hectares in the first quarter of 2025. This marks a 67 percent year-on-year increase from 2023.

Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said, “These campaigns focus on enhancing the broader and aesthetic appeal of Dubai and strengthening its position as the leading sustainable city in the world.” They are part of the environmental policies that support biodiversity and city branding.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency, added that the landscaping follows the specific urban and environmental criteria. Many of the plants were cultivated locally in Dubai Municipality’s nurseries to ensure climate adaptability and sustainability.

The municipality has invested in the flora with an eye for the visuals and functional urban elements. Decorative fencing with curated color schemes and vertical lightning poles inspired by Arab architecture has enhanced the identity and sense of arrival.
