Authorities revealed that the operation strengthens the position of Dubai in securing customs practices and safeguards the community, economy, and environment.
Dubai Customs Uses Technology at the Heart of Border Security
Director General of Dubai Customs, Dr Abdulla Busenad, appreciated the efforts of the inspected and the advanced tools supporting this operation.
He said, “Our cutting-edge scanning and inspection system with expert custom intelligence makes it clear that any attempt to cheat the trade law will fail”. He highlighted that the rapid growth of global trade, especially air cargo, has increased the challenge to maintain a balance between trade ease and security enforcement.
Securing Air Cargo Operations
Sultan Saif Al Suwaidi, Director of Air Cargo Centres Management, shared that every parcel undergoes high-tech scanning before entering the nation. If doubt arises, the shipments meet detailed manual checks.
Sultan said, “Our priority is security and efficiency. We expedite the customs clearance and ensure illegal goods never enter the nation”.
The inspectors of the Dubai Customs are trained extensively in reading X-ray images and analyzing inspection data. In addition, the regular upskilling is also keeping the authority ahead of the smuggler’s tactics.
Fighting Counterfeits, Protecting the Environment
Director of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Department, Yousef Ozair Mubarak, credited close alliances with the global brand representatives for boosting counterfeit detection.
He said, “Even as counterfeit use more complicated practices, our teams are always ready to catch them.”
Dubai Customs is working with the trademark owners to recycle seized counterfeit products instead of destroying them. Therefore, the authority turns it into reusable materials and reduces environmental harm.
A Clear Warning to Smugglers
Dubai Customs has remained alert to catch many prohibited substances or live animals hidden inside the bag. Therefore, the latest record-breaking operations send a strong message that Dubai is going to continue to protect its trade system, brand integrity, public safety, and environmental safety without compromising reinforcement.
