Therefore, this sudden change in weather has forced the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) and local authorities. So, these authorities have urged residents and motorists to take extra precautions.
According to the NCM, the freshening winds have caused the dusty spell, which mixes dust and sand across many parts of the UAE. Moreover, visibility in some open regions dropped significantly that pose potential risks for the road users.
Authorities Urge Caution in Dusty Weather
The authorities have advised motorists to slow down, maintain a safe distance, and avoid sudden lane changes because of the low visibility. Moreover, the officials have requested the residents with dust allergies or respiratory conditions to remain indoors where possible and keep all the windows closed. Moreover, health experts have suggested using face masks if the movement is not unavoidable during this weather.
Saturday Weather Forecast
According to the NCM, partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday over eastern and southern regions. In addition, there is also a slight chance of a little rainfall in some areas of the UAE.
Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, which could range from light to moderate. So, the speed of wind is expected to range between 10 km/hr and 25 km/h. In addition, occasional gust is expected to reach up to 40 km/hr. Therefore, these gusts could cause further dust suspension and reduced visibility in exposed areas.
Sea Conditions
Marine conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to be slight to moderate. Therefore, fishermen and boat operators are requested to stay updated with the most recent marine bulletins from the NCM before venturing out.
