UAE telco du Launches ‘Salary in the Digital Wallet’ Service for the UAE’s Blue-Collar Workforce

UAE telco du has expanded its financial services by launching a groundbreaking feature, “Salary in the digital wallet”. However, it is designed to support the blue-collar workers in the UAE. So, the campaign allows employees to receive their wages in their digital wallet. In addition, it provides them with a safe, cashless, and convenient access to their earnings.

A Big Step Towards Financial Inclusion with UAE telco du

The newly introduced feature addresses the long-standing challenges that workers face about earning less than Dh5000 per month. However, many of those workers have little or no access to traditional banking services.

Customers can open a zero-balance account and enjoy seamless digital transactions without depending on physical cash through du Pay. So, the du Pay said, “By letting wages‌ be credited into the du Pay, we are empowering the employees of the UAE with financial freedom, convenience, and security.”

How the Service Works

Employees who sign up for the service are going to receive their salaries through the du Pay mobile app. In addition, they also get a physical du Pay card, which you can use for cashless payments across retail outlets, ATMs, and online platforms.

The service is not restricted to receiving salaries. On top of that, you can use this service for the tasks mentioned below:

  • Make domestic and international money transfers
  • Pay utility bills and mobile recharges
  • Carry out daily digital transactions with ease

This du Pay is becoming more than just a telecom-backed wallet. So, it is becoming a detailed financial solution.

Strengthening the UAE’s Remittance Market

One of the UAE’s busiest remittance corridors is due to the millions of expats who transfer money abroad. So, du Pay is strongly entering this sector. In addition, it offers competitive fees and promotions on money transfers. So, this makes it especially appealing for workers who support their families back home.

Why It Matters

Digital wallets have become mainstream in the UAE because they are transforming the way residents handle payments. So, du Pay is helping drive the nation’s vision for financial inclusion and digital transformation by combining telecom services with fintech sector. Thus, it provides blue-collar employees with the following perks:

  • No hassle of cash handling
  • Safe salary deposits
  • Direct access to digital banking-like services

Such campaigns are going to play an important role in bridging the financial access gap because the country is empowering its cashless economy.
