Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new and major update for commuters on the Dubai Metro Red Line. Actually, the authority has launched a new peak-hour route to make travel smoother and more efficient.
This new service will connect Centrepoint Station with Al Fardan Exchange Station (previously known as Al Khail). Hence, it will add to the two existing direct routes: Centrepoint to Expo City Dubai and Centrepoint to Life Pharmacy Station. Now, the Red Line operates 3 big routes. So, it will offer more flexibility to passengers during high-demand hours.
Peak-Hour Benefits for Commuters
The authority has introduced alternative routes to reduce crowding and congestion during office hours. Moreover, it has been disclosed that the peak hours on the metro stations. We have listed them below:
- Morning: 7 am to 9 am
- Evening: 4 pm to 8 pm
During these hours, the Centrepoint – Fardan Exchange route will be operative along the existing service. So, it will help to balance passenger flow across the Red Line.
This step makes sure that commuters traveling to famous destinations, like Expo City and Life Pharmacy, can enjoy faster and more direct journeys without the need for a transfer at Jebel Ali Station.
RTA’s Advice for Passengers
The RTA has suggested that commuters check the real-time display screens and onboard announcements to ensure they board the right train. However, passengers like you must plan their trips carefully to avoid delays, as trains will now terminate at three different destinations.
Dubai Metro’s Future Expansion
This update about the Red Line Metro comes as the long-term goal of the RTA to support the public transport network of Dubai. Moreover, the Metro Blue Line is a significant highlight that is set to be completed in 2029. However, it is the upcoming project that is spread over 30 km with 14 stations. So, it will further boost connectivity across the city. In addition, the Dubai Metro is set to expand to 140 stations, covering 228 square kilometers by 2040, which is more than double its current size.
