UAE Weather Update: Residents to Enjoy Cooler Temperatures as Autumn Approaches

Residents can finally look forward to a welcoming change in the UAE  weather. This is because cooler temperatures could slowly settle in more than the coming weeks. Moreover, the Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society and a member of the Arab Union for Space Sciences and Astronomy,   Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the region is entering into the transitional phase from the scorching summer heat to autumn conditions.

The nighttime temperature is expected to dip below 25ºC from September 20. Hence, this condition signals the start of this cooling trend. However, the remaining heat of summer and high humidity will persist until the autumnal equinox on the 23rd of September, 2025. Hence, it could potentially bring fog and dew in the early morning.

Key UAE Weather Changes in the Coming Months

  • Late September: Night temperatures fall below 25ºC.
  • By October 10: Daytime highs will drop under 35ºC.
  • By October 20: Nighttime lows will slip under 20ºC.
  • November: Daytime temperatures expected to remain under 30ºC.
  • December: Nights may dip to a cool 15ºC, marking the true start of winter.

This steady cooling pattern makes the coming months ideal for outdoor activities, family gatherings, and seasonal events that the UAE is popular for during autumn and winter.

The Astronomical Connection

The transition into the milder weather coincides with the traditional seasonal markers. However, the Safriya season officially began on the 6th of September 2025 after the rise of the Al Jabha’ constellation. Traditionally, it was the signal of the beginning of autumn.

Earlier, the appearance of the Suhail star in the UAE skies on August 25 also marked the slow shift toward the cooler weather. However, these astronomical events continue to play a role in predicting the weather transitions across the Arabian Peninsula.

What It Means for Residents

The maximum daytime temperature is  set to decline steadily. Therefore, residents across the UAE should prepare themselves for a more enjoyable climate. So, you can be ready to enjoy the desert adventures, beach outings, and open-air festivals in the upcoming days.

As per Al Jarwan, this natural development is a part of the seasonal rhythm that transforms the residents’ lives in the UAE. Hence, it offers relief after the intense summer months in the Emirates. Therefore, people should be ready to enjoy a calmer season in the coming days. In addition, it would be best to plan what you will do in the upcoming season.
