UAE Weather Update: Cooler Nights Ahead as Temperatures Drop from September 20

Residents in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can expect some relief from the heat this weekend. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), a slight drop in temperatures is expected on Saturday, September 20. Hence, it offers more comfortable evenings. Keep reading to know more about the UAE weather update.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society and member of the Arab Union for Space Sciences and Astronomy, highlighted that night temperatures are predicted to fall below 25ºC from September 20. Hence, it signals the beginning of milder weather. However, the daytime conditions are going to stay hot.

Daytime Highs Still Touching 40ºC

Besides the cooler nights, temperatures are expected to rise to 40ºC in Abu Dhabi and 39ºC in Dubai during the day. Moreover, the NCM forecast warns that the conditions are going to stay hot across most parts of the country.

Humidity is likely to increase at night and into Sunday morning, especially over the western areas. This raises the chances of mist or fog formation, which might impact visibility for motorists and drivers.

Partly Cloudy Skies and Light Winds

The weather outlook suggests fair to partly cloudy skies across the UAE due to occasional cloud cover over the eastern and northern regions. Moreover, winds are going to be light to moderate, southeastern to northeasterly, which could blow at the speed of 10 km/hr to 25 km/hr. However, gusts might freshen and reach up to 35 km/hr.

Calm Sea Conditions

The NCM also confirmed that the sea will stay light in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. So, it could be relatively safe for those who are planning ‌weekend marine activities by the coast.

UAE Weather Update: What Residents Should Expect

  • Cooler nights: Temperatures dipping below 25ºC.
  • Hot daytime: Highs around 39–40ºC in major cities.
  • Humidity at night: Risk of mist and fog formation.
  • Partly cloudy skies: Especially in eastern and northern areas.
  • Gentle winds: Occasionally freshening up to 35 km/h.
  • Calm seas: Slight conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

In short, you can look forward to increasingly pleasant evenings in the coming weeks, as the  United Arab Emirates (UAE) is slowly going through the transition from the peak summer. However. Authorities continue to suggest staying alert while driving in case of reduced visibility because of fog.
