Dubai Fountain Reopens After Renovations: A Dazzling Return to Downtown Dubai

The world’s largest choreographed fountain, the Dubai Fountain, has officially reopened after a closure of five months. Hence, it marks a speculator comeback to Downtown Dubai. However, it is located at the 30-acre Burj Lake at the base of Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. Now, the attraction has resumed its show on Wednesday evening through a breathtaking display of light, water, and music. Watch the glimpse of the first show after renovation below:

Renovation Enhancements and First-Phase Completion

The first phase of the renovation was conducted over the summer. However, it focused on the important upgrades, like tiling, insulation, and painting, to enhance safety and reliability. However, the developer behind this global landmark, Emaar, revealed that the works also introduced advanced choreography systems, improved sound, lighting, and immersive technology. Moreover, a striking new blue-tiled floor shows a brilliant view from above, which adds a fresh visual dimension to the performance.

Mohamed Alabbar, Emaar’s founder and managing director, said, “The return of the Dubai fountain is a celebration of Dubai itself – its spirit, its energy, and its ability to inspire the world.”

Show Timings and Visitor Experience

Now, you can once again enjoy  the iconic water, light, and water performance at the following schedule:

Afternoon Shows:

  • Saturday to Thursday: 1:00 PM & 1:30 PM
  • Friday: 2:00 PM & 2:30 PM

Evening Shows:

  • Daily from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM (every 30 minutes)

Guests can enjoy the fountain shows from many vantage points, like the Dubai Mall Waterfront Promenade, Souk Al Bahar terraces, and Burj Park. The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk stretches 272 metres across the lake, is the best for a closer look at the fountain. However, this boardwalk is a top choice for an immersive view of the show.

Dubai Fountain: A Cultural and Musical Icon

Since its debut in 2009, it has entertained the audience with the performance choreographed to a diverse playlist featuring iconic stars, like Adele, Luciano Pavarotti, Lionel Richie, Edith Piaf, and K-pop sensation Exo.

Moreover, it has hets shooting water up to 152 metres high that 6,600 lights and 25 colour projectors illuminate.  In addition, the fountain is a free-to-watch attraction that highlights the innovation and creativity of Dubai.

What’s Next?

Emaar has confirmed that the second phase of renovation is scheduled for renovation in Q2 2026. Hence, it promises a new feature and a more immersive experience. Till then, you can enjoy attractive shows to bring the heart of Downtown Dubai to life.
