Fujairah Police Launch “Keep Your Lane, Stay Safe” Traffic Campaign

The Fujairah Police have introduced their third traffic campaign for safety in 2025 under “Keep Your Lane, Stay Safe”. It will run throughout October. Moreover, the initiative is a part of the broader efforts of the Ministry of Interior to boost road safety and reduce traffic accidents across the emirate.

The campaign especially targets the danger of sudden or random lane changes, which are among the leading causes of serious road accidents in the  United Arab Emirates (UAE). Moreover, the authorities highlighted that maintaining the proper lane helps prevent collisions. In addition, this simple step also ensures a smoother traffic flow, which ultimately protects all road users.

Brigadier Saleh Mohammad Al Dhanhani, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police,  highlighted the dedication of the department to public awareness and driver education.

Brigadier Al Dhanhani said, “Campaigns such as this help reduce violations, prevent accidents, and motivate a culture of road safety across all sections of society”.

As a part of the campaign, police have reminded motorists of the strict penalties for unsafe driving practices. However, drivers who make a sudden lane change will face a fine of Dh1000 and four traffic points. Remember, traffic points could also result in the license cancelation.

Multi-Channel Awareness Drive

The Keep Your Lane, Stay Safe” campaign includes a range of awareness activities to reach as many as residents and tourists as possible.  We have listed those activities below:

  • Media outreach through newspapers, radio, and television
  • Social media campaigns to engage younger audiences
  • Educational lectures and workshops in schools and workplaces
  • On-the-ground awareness events to directly connect with drivers

The Fujairah police have also highlighted that the ultimate goals of the campaign is more than just awareness and education against the frequent lane change. However, the police aim to instill responsible driving habits and reduce the risks of avoidable accidents by raising awareness.

Traffic Safety Campaign in the UAE

The campaign is a part of a nationwide strategy by the Ministry of Interior of the UAE to prioritize traffic safety in the country.  Moreover, campaigns such as the “Keep Your Lane, Stay Safe” Traffic Campaign are important to protect drivers and pedestrians on the roads due to the growing population of the UAE and busy road networks.

The message of this initiative is clear:  staying in your lane means staying safe. So, keep following your land to protect yourself from accidents.
