The Indian community of Dubai is celebrating Diwali 2025 with unmatched excitement as the temples and gurdwaras of the city are sparkling in the festive grandeur. Moreover, the Hindu Temple Dubai and Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara have been beautifully adorned with lights and decorations to welcome thousands of devotees for the festival of lights.
The neighboring temples located side-by-side in the Worship Village area of Jebel Ali are also gearing up for the unprecedented surge of worshippers over the long surge over the long festive weekend. Moreover, the number of the crowd is expected to hit a record high.
Comprehensive Security and Crowd Management Plans
Both venues have coordinated with Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for security and traffic management to ensure smooth celebrations in the festive season.
N. Mohan, General Manager of Hindu Temple Dubai, told Gulf News, “On Saturday, we had more than 10,000 visitors. Today, we expect around 18,000 to 20,000 devotees, and Monday could see over 25,000 worshippers.”
The temple has introduced a separate queue system for bachelor entries from the basement and family queues from the main entrance. Moreover, the indoor community halls have been created as holding areas to manage the flow easily and ensure no one is left waiting outside. In addition, the RTA has also increased feeder bus frequency from Energy and Ibn Battuta Metro stations to make travel more convenient for devotees.
Extended Temple Hours and Cultural Activities on Diwali 2025

The Hindu Temple Dubai is operating from 6 AM to 8:30 PM. However, timing may extend on the basis of the crowd flow. As part of the celebration, children’s workshops, rangoli displays, and traditional prayer sessions are taking place throughout the weekend. In addition, more than 200 children have already registered for the Diwali-special craft session, learning traditional rangoli designs and decorative crafts.
Mohan shared, “Families were very excited to help their children connect with cultural traditions. The response was overwhelming”. However, the celebration will come to an end on the 22nd of October, where more than 70 varieties of sweets will be offered as Prasad (holy offering).
Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara’s Special Langar and Prayers

The atmosphere is equally vibrant at the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara. Moreover, the Sikh of worship has been illuminated with dazzling lights. According to the Chairman Surender Singh Kandhari, it is expected that 15.000 visitors and up to 25,000 visitors will visit on Diwali Day.
On the other hand, Gurudwara’s kitchen has prepared a massive quantity of food, including 1,000kg of wheat flour, 800kg of rice, 600kg of lentils, and 200kg each of rice pudding, semolina halwa, and sacred sweet offerings.
Kandhari said, “We have never had any shortage of food by the grace of God. We always prepare in advance when we know more people are coming.” Any surplus food will be distributed to labor communities to ensure nothing goes to waste, which is a reflection of the Gurudwara’s spirit of generosity.
Safety, Volunteers, and Extended Festive Hours
Both worship centers have deployed extra volunteers and security personnel to ensure safety and order. Kandhari highlighted, “We are very alert and prepared. Visitor safety is our top priority.”
The Gurudwara is going to maintain its usual operating hours of 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM. On the other hand, the Hindu Temple might extend the timing on the basis of the level of the crowd. However, Diwali 2025 in Dubai stands as a testament to the multicultural spirit of the city, where faith and festivity shine together.
