Sam Rivers has passed away at the age of 48. However, he was the bassist and the founding member of the American nu metal band Limp Bizkit. Yet, the band confirmed the news on social media by calling River not “just our bass player” but “the soul in the sound” in a heartbreaking announcement that has shaken the global rock community.
The cause of death has been attributed to complications from liver disease, which was the condition River had battled for many years. However, he underwent a successful liver transplant surgery and made an effort to quit alcohol to recover.
