Abu Dhabi is taking a big step toward an Abu Dhabi Autonomous Mobility and AI-powered mobility ecosystem, including personal driverless cars, mini Robo-buses, electric air taxis, and smart marine vessels. Moreover, the emirate aims to create one of the most advanced, safe, and sustainable transport networks in the world, as global partnerships and national initiatives back the campaign.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, have signed multiple agreements during DRIFTx 2025 at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week 2025. Moreover, the partnership spread over air, land, sea, and logistics. Hence, it has laid the foundation for the next-generation transport infrastructure.
AI Traffic-Monitoring Drones to Boost Road Safety

The ITC has launched a pilot project of deploying AI-powered drones to monitor traffic in real time in partnership with e&. Moreover, these drones send live footage to the traffic management centre. Hence, it helps authorities to detect congestion, illegal parking, and incidents instantly. This campaign strengthens the goal of Abu Dhabi to achieve smoother vehicle flow and enhanced road safety through data-driven intelligence.
Personal Driverless Cars Move Closer to Reality

A new cooperation agreement between the ITC, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Tensor Auto Inc., a Silicon Valley company, will boost the commercial deployment of the autonomous personal vehicles. This collaboration encompasses regulatory support, technical testing in real-world environments, and capacity-building programs aimed at developing UAE expertise in autonomous mobility systems.
Mini Robo-Buses Coming Soon to Abu Dhabi Streets
Abu Dhabi will start the pilot operations of mini robo-buses as part of a collaboration with Benteler Mobility. Moreover, the initiative will feature mobility analysis, a smart operational framework, and technical assessments aimed at future large-scale deployment. Moreover, a dedicated ITC task force is going to oversee the full implementation of these intelligent buses to enhance first- and last-mile travel options.
Electric Air Taxis Take Flight with SkyDrive Partnership

Abu Dhabi has also signed a major agreement with SkyDrive, a leading Japanese eVTOL manufacturer, to conduct technical studies and pilot operations of the SD-05 electric air taxi. However, this collaboration is going to examine the vertiport infrastructure, smart charging systems, regulatory frameworks, and long-term opportunities in aircraft manufacturing and maintenance within the UAE.
Autonomous Marine Mobility to Enhance Maritime Transport
The ITC, ADIO and Blue Gulf Group are going to work together on autonomous vessel trials. However, this project will include technology testing, environmental evaluations and safety compliance studies as Abu Dhabi is getting ready for the intelligent and low-emission maritime mobility solutions.
Wi-Fi and 5 G-Enabled Autonomous Mobility
A cooperation with e& is going to support connectivity needs for autonomous driving, like 5G and 5.5G solutions. Moreover, passengers inside future Abu Dhabi Autonomous Mobility vehicles will get access to high-speed onboard Wi-Fi to enhance comfort and productivity. In addition, this partnership also focuses on knowledge exchange and smart-city innovation workshops.
Cybersecurity Reinforced for Smart Mobility Systems
The ITC has also joined hands with the UAE Cyber Security Council. Hence, this partnership will empower cybersecurity through threat-intelligence sharing, coordinated responses, technical drills, training programs and awareness campaigns to boost Abu Dhabi Autonomous Mobility. Thus, it will ensure safety at every step.
Drones and Driverless Trucks to Advance Autonomous Logistics
The ITC has also signed an agreement with the Sinaha technology to push logistics solutions. However, these include heavy-lift cargo drones and self-driving trucks. Therefore, it will promote faster delivery systems and the sustainability goals of the UAE by reducing emissions.
Abu Dhabi Autonomous Mobility: Final words
Abu Dhabi is rapidly shaping a smart, safe and sustainable transport future with these agreements. Thus, Abu Dhabi Autonomous Mobility will redefine how people and goods move across the emirates through autonomous mobility.
