Abu Dhabi Police has introduced a new campaign to reduce traffic black points on a driving license. Notably, it was announced during the opening of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2025). New Programmes To Reduce Black Points

- Programme 1: Motorists who have reached 24 black points and had their licence suspended can regain it by registering at the Abu Dhabi Police booth (Hall 12). However, they must pay Dh2,400 and complete a rehabilitation course for traffic violators.
- Programme 2: Drivers with 8 to 23 black points can reduce their total by 8 points after paying Dh800 and attending the same course.
Black points are penalties given for serious traffic violations. If a motorist collects 24 points within one year, their driver’s license will be suspended. Moreover, the new campaign is created to motivate responsible driving and give drivers a chance at rehabilitation.
Alignment with National Road Safety Campaigns
This announcement follows the recent nationwide campaign “A Day Without Accidents.” So, the UAE Ministry of Interior (MOI) launched this campaign on August 25, coinciding with the beginning of the new academic year. On that day, drivers are pledged on the MOI website and maintain a clean record; on that day had four black points deducted from their licenses.
Both campaigns highlight the wider dedication of the UAE to road safety, driver education, and accident prevention. In addition, the officials aim to develop safer roads and decrease traffic-related incidents by mixing rehabilitation.
