The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has announced the administrative closure of the Egyptian Bakery – Sole Proprietorship L.L.C. Notably, it was a popular and well-known establishment in the Al Nahyan neighbourhood. However, the authority closed it due to the serious food safety violations.
The closure was introduced on Thursday after repeated breaches of the Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. According to the ADAFSA, the bakery failed to implement corrective actions despite prior warnings and inspections. Thus, it was posing a significant health risk to customers.
Repeated Violations Prompt Immediate Action
As per the food control report from the ADAFSA, the operation of the bakery had consistently failed to meet regulatory standards, which led to immediate intervention. Furthermore, the authority stated that the administrative closure will continue until the bakery rectifies all violations and follows the required health and safety protocol.
In addition, the closure is a part of the supervising role of the ADAFSA to ensure all food establishments meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Remember, the bakery will only come into operation after resolving its violations.
Ongoing Food Safety Inspections in Abu Dhabi
The closure of the Egyptian Bakery comes just after the ADAFSA shut down a grocery store in Khajur Tola for similar violations. Moreover, these actions are part of the ongoing efforts of this authority to ensure food safety across all emirates in the country.
The authority conducts regular inspections on all businesses that are involved in food handling, preparation, and sales. Thus, this approach of the ADAFSA aims to strengthen the food safety ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and preserve public health.
Public Urged to Report Food Safety Concerns
The authority has encouraged residents in the emirate to play an important role in maintaining food safety standards by reporting any suspected violations. Therefore, you can make a complaint about any similar issues through the Abu Dhabi Government toll-free number, i.e, 800555. Moreover, the inspectors from the ADAFSA are committed to investigating each report. In addition, they also take necessary actions if needed.
