Fuel Prices Spike in July
The UAE fuel committee announced petrol and diesel prices for July 2025 earlier this past Monday. See the latest fuel price for July 2025 below:
- Super 98: Dh 2.70
- Special 95: Dh 2.58
- E-Plus: Dh 2.51
- Diesel: Dh 2.63
It shows the end of two months (June and July) of stable fuel prices. However, the rises come after the decline of 13 percent in the global oil cost. Still, the renewed geopolitical tensions and the resumption of growing pressure on crude oil have reversed the stable trend.
Weekly loss in the oil
Oil price suffered their biggest weekly loss in two years on Monday because investors bet on falling prices after tension between Iran and Israel. It happened right before the expectation that OPEC+ will increase the supply of oil soon.
The US crude (West Texas Intermediate) hovered around $65 per barrel after a 13% drop in the previous week. Although Iran has doubts about whether the US-brokered ceasefire will last long. However, the US President Donald Trump announced that he might lift the sanctions from the Islamic Republic if Iran remain peaceful.
As per many delegates, key members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its collaborators are to consider another 411,000 barrels of increase for August when they meet on Sunday when they meet on Sunday. It would be the fourth month continually agree on such a big increase. The hike is triple time higher than the amount they initially planned.
Vivek Dhar (analyst) revealed that the path of Iran’s oil export and its effects on Brent oil features are going to shift to the background in the upcoming days because the market is re-focusing on the supply chain decision of the OPEC+. He further said that the group might now accept a lower oil price to stop the erosion of the market share.
Impact on Ajman Taxi Fare Structure
The taxi operators in Ajman have responded to the increase in the price of petrol as well ass diesel in July 2025. So, they have announced a slight hike in Taxi fares in Ajman. The cost will now be Dh 1.76 per kilometer. However, the early cost was Dh 1.74.
This minor increase in the taxi fare aims to balance the operational cost and keep transportation affordable for regular commuters in the region. Remember, the new price will come into effect from 1st of July 2025, i.e, Tuesday. It is expected that the price is going to remain the same until the UAE fuel price revision.
Prediction for the upcoming months
There is a hope that the price of fuel and taxi fares could drop in the near future due to the recent drop in global oil prices and easing regional conflict between Iran and Israel. As we told you before, the oil price has fallen sharply by around 13 percent in the last week. So, it could bring a drop in prices.
The ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel is among the biggest reasons behind the drop in global oil prices. It has eased the fear of oil supply disruption from the Middle East, which is a region that supplies about a third of the global oil.
