Brigitte Bardot has died at the age of 91. She was the legendary French actress who redefined global cinema in the 1950s and 1960s through her beauty, charisma, and defiance. Her foundation confirmed her death on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Hence, it marks the end of an era for French and international cinema.
Brigitte Bardot’s Death: What Has Been Confirmed So Far
The Barton Foundation announced Brigitte Bardot death. According to Bruno Jacquelin of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, Bardot died peacefully at her home in southern France. The foundation said, “Mrs Brigitte Bardot (was) a popular actress and singer, who chose to leave her prestigious career to spend her life to defence to animals and her foundation”.
The post also read, “The Brigitte Bardot Foundation wishes to honour the memory of an exceptional woman who gave everything and leaves everything for a world more respectful of animals”.
Currently, authorities have not disclosed the official cause of death. Moreover, funeral or memorial arrangements are yet to be announced. Reportedly, she had been hospitalised last month.
