Dubai Emerges as a Top Solo Traveler Destination for UK Travellers, Survey Reveals

Dubai has once again strengthened its status as the global tourism powerhouse by topping the solo traveler destination list. According to the UK-based long-haul holiday specialist Travelbag, Dubai has instantly climbed the ranks as a must-visit location, particularly among British travelers and solo adventurers. However, Japan, Canada, and Australia dominate the dream destination list.

Dubai’s Growing Popularity Among UK Tourists for the Solo Traveler Destination List

Travelbag survey includes 1000 UK travellers. However, the survey highlights that 32 percent of Brits have placed Japan at the top of their dream destination, followed by Dubai’s Growing Popularity Among UK tourists. The US leads because 5.6% of respondents actively arrange tips when it comes to actual travel plans. However,  Australia (5%) and South Africa (4.9%) stand behind the US.

On the flip side, Dubai has secured a place in the top 10 list. So, it highlights its transformation from a bucket list fantasy to a realistic and highly sought-after travel experience.

Why Solo Travellers Choose Dubai?

The survey revealed a sharp rise in solo travelers in Dubai because nearly half (46%) of respondents are planning holidays around the bucket list experience. So, Dubai stands out for its unique combination of luxury, culture, and safety.

The emirate is also popular as one of the safest cities in the world. Therefore, the emirate regularly ranks higher for solo female travellers due to low crime rate, secure transport, and welcoming environment. So, it allows visitors to fully explore everything from the historic  Al Fahidi district to the emirate’s vibrant nightlife and modern attractions.

A Solo Traveller’s Itinerary in Dubai

The survey has revealed that shopping and markets (26.7%) are the most popular holiday activities among the British. So, Dubai handles the demand with its world-famous shopping destination, like the Dubai Mall, and traditional souks such as the Gold and Spice Souks.

In addition, heritages also play an important role because 21.4% of travellers are interested in exploring the cultural sites. So, the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood gives an opportunity to go back in time to its narrow lanes and wind tower architecture.

Expert Tips for Planning a Dubai Trip

Nicola Richardson, Travelbag’s Managing Director, advises UK travellers to plan ahead. However, he also suggests visiting during the UK winter months because they would be ideal for the warm weather in Dubai. In addition, he advised securing advanced booking to get better flight deals and top accommodation options.
