Dubai Fountain to Reopen in October 2025 After Major Makeover

Dubai Fountain is popular as the largest performing fountain in the world. Now, it is all set to make its dazzling comeback this year after undergoing a massive five-month enhancement project. Emaar, which is the developer behind this attraction, has confirmed that the fountain is going to be officially reopened on the 1st of October 2025.

Why is the Dubai Fountain closed?

One of the city’s most recognizable landmarks is the iconic fountain, situated on the Burj Lake at the base of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. Now, it has been temporarily closed since the 20th of April 2025 for essential upgrades. The closure has allowed engineers to drain the 30-acre artificial lake, repair cracked flooring, and install new technology that promises a more engaging and enhanced visitor experience.

During the closure, Emaar introduced digital screens around the promenade to keep visitors entertained. In addition, these screens are synchronized with the Burj Khalifa LED displays to offer a glimpse of what is to come while the fountains remain offline.

What’s new after the upgrade

After opening, you can expect the following upgrades in the Dubai Fountain:

  • Advanced technology to improve choreography.
  • Enhanced lighting and sound systems for sharper, more immersive performances.
  • Robotic systems to move water jets and lighting with precision.
  • New musical lineups, developing on classics such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Andrea Bocelli’s Time to Say Goodbye.

The revamped system is going to continue to project 22,000 gallons of water up to 140 metres into the air. So, it will create one of the most spectacular free attractions in the world.

Experiences for visitors

You can enjoy the fountain from many vantage points:

  • Dubai Fountain Boardwalk – AED 25 per person for a closer look, just nine metres away.
  • Dubai Fountain Lake Ride – AED 73.25 per person for an abra ride across Burj Lake.

You can book tickets for both experiences through the official portal of the platform.

Dining and hotels nearby

Downtown Dubai offers a wealth of dining choices overlooking the fountains. So, the Time Out Market Dubai in Souk Al Bahar and fine dining at Atmosphere inside Burj Khalifa are some of the options available at nearby of this attraction. Moreover, Address Dubai Mall, Palace Downtown, and Armani Hotel are a few examples of hotels that put guests right at the heart of the action.
