The government offices across Dubai will be closed on Friday, September 5, 2025, due to the observance of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH). Moreover, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has confirmed the public holiday through an official circular issued on Thursday.

According to the official circular of the DGHR, it is linked to the 12th Rabi Al Awwal, 1447 AH on the Islamic calendar. Moreover, the authority has revealed that normal work will resume on the 8 of September, 2025, Monday. In addition, the regulation is for all government departments, public institutions, and other official bodies in the emirate.
Exceptions for Critical Services
Agencies that provide important and emergency services, like healthcare, utilities, and emergency response units, will not benefit from the official or public holiday. Therefore, these entities are going to implement duty schedules to ensure continuous operation. So, it ensures that public services are unaffected during the holy occasion.
