Dubai authorities have issued a Dubai weather warning. Hence, it urges residents and visitors to stay alert as unstable weather conditions are expected across the emirate and other parts of the UAE. Moreover, the alert was sent directly to mobile phones through the UAE’s National Early Warning System. Therefore, it highlights potential risks connected to rain in Dubai, strong winds, and sudden weather fluctuations.
Dubai Police Issues Weather Alert to Residents

Dubai Police issued a public safety alert to phones across the emirate on Saturday night at approximately 9:05 pm, warning the public about adverse weather conditions. The message advised residents to follow safety instructions issued by authorities strictly and to stay alert during the coming days.
According to the alert, residents should avoid beaches, refrain from sailing, and stay away from valleys, low-lying areas, and locations prone to water accumulation. These areas are especially risky during periods of rainfall, as sudden water flow and flash floods can occur.
Motorists were also requested to be extra alert while driving. Moreover, Dubai Police suggested that drivers slow down, maintain safe distances, and adhere to official traffic instructions to reduce the risk of accidents during poor weather conditions.
The alert ended with a clear message for residents – remain alert and stay safe.
Rain in Dubai and UAE Weather Forecast

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast unstable weather conditions across the UAE from Saturday through Thursday. Moreover, the outlook includes cloudy skies, strong winds in some areas, and the formation of convective clouds that might lead to rainfall.
According to the NCM forecasts, rainfall is expected in scattered areas of the UAE on the following days:
- Sunday, December 14
- Tuesday, December 16
- Wednesday, December 17
Additionally, there is a chance of rain on the 15th of December, Monday, especially over the coastal and northern regions. Apart from the Dubai rain, these weather patterns could impact the weather in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi weather, where similar clouds may develop.
Convective clouds have often resulted in intense localised rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and short-term flooding in recent years. Thus, it is now essential to take the official warning seriously.
No Active Dubai Weather Warning Red Alert, But Caution Advised

The authorities have clarified that there is no active severe Dubai Weather Warning from the NCM UAE. However, conditions could change rapidly. So, the officials stressed that residents should continue to follow guidance from the relevant authorities and monitor updates closely.
How the National Early Warning System Works
The UAE’s National Early Warning System allows government bodies such as Dubai Police, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and the Ministry of Health and Prevention to send urgent alerts to the public.
These messages are delivered using cellular broadcast technology. Hence, it means that all mobile phones within a specific geographic area receive the alert simultaneously. Importantly, alerts appear automatically on Android and Apple devices, with no need to enable notifications manually.
Safety Advice for Residents
Authorities have recommended the following precautions during the period of unstable weather conditions:
- Avoid beaches and marine activities
- Do not enter valleys or flood-prone areas
- Drive carefully and reduce speed in the rain
- Follow official instructions and verified updates
The UAE residents are advised to stay informed, act responsibly, and prioritise safety during the changing weather conditions at the end of the year, as the Dubai Weather Warning continues to be monitored closely. It would also be best to keep your eyes on the NCM official channels and your mobile phones to get accurate updates related to unstable weather conditions.
