flydubai to Add 12 New Aircraft in 2025 Amid Fleet Expansion and Service Upgrades

Dubai-based carrier flydubai has revealed plans to receive 12 new aircraft in 2025. Therefore, it is a move that can boost its growth strategy despite ongoing delivery backlogs. Moreover, the airline has revealed that supply chain delays have left it 20 aircraft behind the aircraft projection. Still, the upcoming addition highlights a strong momentum.

flydubai took delivery of seven new Boeing 737 Max 8s between April and August 2025. Thus, it brings its fleet to 93 aircraft. Moreover, the airline is expected to operate more than 95 aircraft by January next month because 5 more planes are arriving by year-end. In addition, it could serve more than 135 destinations across 57 nations.

CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said that it is an example of our long-term strategic vision. It highlights that the airline’s investments aim to provide passengers with more choice and greater connectivity.

flydubai New Routes Strengthen European Network

The fleet expansion is matched by the network growth. Thus, flydubai includes 11 new destinations alone in 2025. Moreover, four more European cities, including Chișinău, Iași, Vilnius, and Riga, are scheduled to begin begin December this year. In addition, these routes are expected to boost connectivity between Dubai and emerging travel hubs in Eastern and Northern Europe.

Customer Experience Overhaul

Apart from adding aircraft and routes, the airline is significantly investing in in-flight comfort. Thus, a multimillion-dollar retrofit campaign is in process to upgrade the 23 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s with lie-flat business class seats and advanced in-flight entertainment systems for Economy Class.

Notably, the program began in early 2024. However, it will continue until the next year, i.e, 2026. Thus, it makes sure that the passengers across the fleet enjoy a consistent and premium level of travel experience.

Workforce and Training Expansion

flydubai has also increased the workforce by 10 percent because of the rapid growth in demand for the fleet. Now, it has more than 6500 staff to serve its passengers. Moreover, a new pilot training program has also been launched to meet the operational demands and maintain the safety and service standards.

flydubai is positioning itself as a key driver in the aviation sector of this emirate, as it has a strong fleet pipeline, enhanced cabin features, and new international routes. On top of that, these factors are supporting the status of the emirate as a global travel hub.
