Global Rail 2025 Exhibition Opens in Abu Dhabi, Highlighting Future of Transport and Connectivity

The second edition of the Global Rail 2025 exhibition has officially opened at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Moreover, it will run until the 2nd of October under the theme of  “Shaping the Future of Transport and Strengthening Global Connectivity.”

The event is happening under he patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and supervised by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Hence, it highlights the growing role of the  United Arab Emirates (UAE)as a hub for sustainable transport innovation.

Global Rail 2025 Exhibition Opens in Abu Dhabi

Exhibitions of this year gather more than 24 ministers and 200+ exhibitors from 14 critical sectors. Moreover, it has collected over 60 CEOs representing organizations with annual revenues exceeding USD 140 billion. In addition, it is expected that the event will gather 20000 visitors from 100 nations. Hence, the exhibition highlights the position of  Abu Dhabi as the global meeting point for future-focused solutions in transport and innovation. 

You can explore multi-billion-dollar projects and the investment opportunities at this event. Moreover, the event will provide attendees like you with a chance to engage in more than 55 panel discussions and specialized workshops covering topics like high-speed rail, sustainable financing, AI in transport, and future city planning.

Etihad Rail: Passenger Services by 2026

Etihad Rail is the highlight of the Global Rail 2025 Exhibition, which is confirmed to launch for passengers in 2026, i.e, the next year. Moreover, the network aims to connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE, including  Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, and Ruwais. In addition, the train has the ability to carry up to 400 passengers per trip. 

According to Azza Al Suwaidi, Deputy CEO of Etihad Rail Passenger Services, the train will provide seamless connectivity and integration with the local transport providers and technology platform. Moreover, the travel time is going to be reduced by 57 minutes from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, 105 minutes to Fujairah, and 70 minutes to Ruwais.

High-Speed Rail & GCC Connectivity

The high-speed rail project between Abu Dhabi and Dubai will reach a speed of 350 km/h, which will cut the travel time to just 30 minutes. Moreover, the campaign is expected to contribute around Dh145 billion to the UAE’s GDP over 50 years.

On the other hand, Etihad Rail is also advancing regional connectivity across the GCC. Moreover, projects like Hafeet Rail could further the UAE’s role in shaping the future of Gulf transport.
