UAE Weather Update: Humid Mornings, Fog Risk and Chance of Light Rain Till December 27

The UAE weather update from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) indicates a spell of unsettled winter conditions across the country from Tuesday, December 23, to Saturday, December 27. Hence, you can expect humid mornings, possible fog or mist in internal areas, shifting cloud cover and intermittent chances of light rain in some regions.

Humid start with fog risk

According to the NCM, Tuesday and Wednesday are going to start with high humidity during early morning, especially over inland and western areas. Moreover, there is a chance of mist or light fog, which might reduce visibility on some roads. In addition, the UAE weather conditions are expected to turn fair to partly cloudy during the day, with low clouds forming over islands and western coastal areas.

Winds will be light to moderate. However, it could occasionally reach up to 35km/hr. Plus, the sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Sea of Oman. Hence, it could make the marine conditions generally manageable. 

Midweek remains stable

As we mentioned above, Wednesday is expected to follow a similar pattern with a humid morning and possible fog. In addition, the sky could be fair to partly cloudy. However, low clouds might continue over the islands and the western water. Hence, winds could shift gradually from north-easterly to north-westerly at moderate speeds.

Changeable UAE weather and rain chance on Thursday

A noticeable weather change is possible for Thursday, 25 December, as the conditions could become more variable. Moreover, the NCM has warned of partly cloudy to cloudy skies at times, especially over islands, coastal and northern areas.  In addition, there is also a chance of light and intermittent rain in parts of the country. 

 Northwestern winds might strengthen, as they could reach up to 40km/hr. So, it could cause the Arabian Sea conditions to become rough at times.  Moreover, the Sea of Oman is expected to stay calm. 

Friday continues the unsettled pattern

The UAE weather on Friday is expected to be similar to Thursday, with fog inland and increasing cloud cover over northern and eastern regions.  Moreover, light rain will also be possible in isolated areas. Similarly, winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally picking up speed. However, the sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the country.

By Saturday, the NCM forecasts humid morning conditions with possible mist. Moreover, there is also a chance of fair to partly cloudy weather during the day. In addition, cloud cover may increase again at night over islands and western sea areas. Moreover, winds will ease slightly, as they could speed up to 30 km/h. Plus, seas are expected to be calm to moderate.

What residents should know

Meteorologists have highlighted that these conditions fall within the normal climatic range of the UAE winter season, which is the primary rainfall period of the country. Moreover, rainfall during the winter season depends on the movement of low-pressure systems and does not occur continuously.

Authorities have advised staying updated with the official weather updates from the NCM updates. In addition, it would also be best to drive carefully during the foggy morning of these conditions.  Moreover, you should also take precautions during periods of reduced visibility or rough sea conditions.
