Israel has directly held the supreme leader of Iran, “Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,” responsible for a recent deadly attack on an Israeli hospital. In addition, the country calls the international accountability and warns that Khamenei “can no longer be allowed to exist.
Katz (the defence minister of Israel) said that a dictator like Khamenei, who leads a nation like Iran, has made the destruction of Israel his mission, and cannot continue to exist. Moreover, he said that the IDF has been instructed and knows that this man should not exist in order to achieve all its goals.
The statement marks a rare and aggressive pose by Israel. Moreover, it openly highlights that Iran’s supreme leader should face the consequences on the global stage for what Israel sees as an act of war.
How does the conflict?
The conflict began when Israel performed a surprising airstrike on Iran. It targets Iran’s military sites, senior officers, and nuclear scientists. As per the US-based Iranian Human Rights group, at least 639 people (263 civilians have died in this attack. Furthermore, more than 1300 people were injured in the same attack.
In the response, Iran has launched around 400 missiles at Israel. It killed almost 24 people in Israel. Furthermore, hundreds of people were injured in it. Since then, the conflict has been going on, and now it is becoming more intense.
Mounting Pressure on Khamenei Amid Hospital Attack Fallout
The hospital attack is seen as the turning point in already strained relations between Israel and Iran. Two doctors said that the missile struck almost immediately after the siren went off in the hospital. They further said that it caused a loud explosion that could be heard from the safe room. They spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to provide information to the media.
The report suggests that at least 40 people were injured in the attack. Moreover, the emergency team shifts patients from Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba as the smoke comes from the site. Besides hospital, other missiles also hit residential cum high-rise area near the Tel Aviv.
According to the First Post report, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is controlling the Iranian army from a fortified bunker. It is safe from airstrikes and potential foreign operations. Moreover, the report suggests that he maintains a tight control over Iran’s foreign policy, especially its “axis of resistance” that focuses on countering the US and Israel’s influence in the region.
The US also comments on Ali Khamenei
The US President, “Donald Trump”, has made it clear that the US has no plan to kill Khamenei “at least for now”. He also mentioned that “we are aware of where the so-called ‘supreme leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target and is safe there. However, we will not take him out (kill) at least for now. But we don’t want missile shots on civilians or the American army. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
This is not the end. Donald Trump also demanded “unconditional surrender” from Ali Khamenei amid escalating military tension between Tehran and Israel. However, Khamenei rejects his demand. Moreover, reports suggest that the US could enter the conflict in West Asia because Iran and Israel continue to trade drones and missiles on the seventh continuos day.
Iran says it did not order the hospital strike
Iran has denied carrying out a strike on a hospital. Moreover, it says that it asserted that its targets were certain military targets and intelligence facilities in Tel Aviv. As per the statement, the Israeli Army’s Central Command Headquarters for Communications, Control and Intelligence, plus the primary building for military intelligence and operations situated within the Gav-Yam Technology Park, were their target.
The Iranian Embassy in India said on X, the hospital was affected by the blast wave but sustained no major damage because their targets were situated next to the hospital.
The attack has intensified the conflict between Iran and Israel. However, it has bring Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the world’s spotlight as Israel gives a big statement against the Iran’s supreme leader.
