After relocating from London to Dubai, Toumas (YouTuber and entrepreneur) shares his one-year experience in the  United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, he uncovered the reality behind the glitz, safety, and lifestyle of Dubai.  Actually, Dubai is often described as a futuristic paradise. Yet, it is a city created on ambition and constant growth.

Dubai represents progress for many professionals and entrepreneurs. On one side, cities in Europe aims to preserve history. On the other side, the mindset of Dubai is about creating the future. Moreover, the city embodies the spirit of growth due to its rapid development and its ever-evolving skyline. Hence, the city attracts people who value progress and opportunity.

Tuomas shared that Dubai stands out globally for its unparalleled safety. Strict laws ensure an environment where residents feel secure. Moreover, the city is so safe that people often leave their phones or laptops unattended in cafes. In addition, it ranked one of the safest cities for women, which debunks the common misconception about gender restrictions.

The YouTuber said that the sunny weather of this city also plays an important role in improving the quality of life of residents. According to him, consistent sunshine and clear skies boost mental well-being and physical health. However, the summer months (June–September) can be extremely hot. Thus, many expats prefer travelling during that period.

Dubai gives a balance in lifestyle. He said that it is a city where you can enjoy luxuries without unnecessary overspending. However, discipline is a key. It is true that social media showcases yachts and parties. However, the real Dubai lifestyle can be simple and peaceful. So, residents can choose between living modestly or indulging in the high life, depending on personal choices and income.

Financial and Cultural Perspective

Financial incentives are one of the biggest attractions of Dubai. Moreover, the  United Arab Emirates (UAE) gives 0% personal income tax and only 9% corporate tax on profits exceeding $900,000 annually. However, it is nearly half as compared to Western countries. So, the emirate provides an environment that boosts financial freedom and faster wealth growth.

Critics claimed that Dubai lacks an authentic culture.  However, the YouTuber said that the reality is different, as it has a blend of modern innovation and traditional Middle Eastern hospitality.  Old Dubai preserves Emirati Heritage. On the other hand, the new city showcases futuristic ambitions. Moreover, this mix gives Dubai to unique global identity, which is a city where innovation meets tradition.

Rules, Freedom, and Final Verdict

Despite the myth of strictness, everyday life in Dubai is remarkably free and comfortable because residents respect local laws. Moreover, public decency, no public intoxication, and general politeness are the norms. In return, residents enjoy a clean, safe, and respectful environment.

In short, living in Dubai is not perfect, but it is about perfection. Moreover, the city gives unmatched safety, financial freedom, and modern comforts. So, it is one of the most attractive destinations for ambitious people.  Watch the full podcast below:
