The Ministry of Education (MoE) has completed its detailed review of the UAE resit exam questions to ensure that readiness for the exam scheduled for the launch tomorrow, i.e, 4th of July 2025. It shows a significant achievement in the country’s commitment to academic excellence and fairness in its education system.

Who should give the UAE resit exam?

The resit examination is a must for all students who did not get the minimum passing marks or grades in any subject under Grade A at the end of the academic year. Moreover, students will get the highest score between the resit exam and the final exam result. Notably, the exam would be conducted for students in Grades 4 to 12.

The ministry has clarified that the Grade 4 exam will be performed in the paper format, which requires students’ physical presence in schools. However, the students from Grade 5 to Grade 12 will take the exams online and in person in school.

All students must bring their electronic devices for the exams. In addition, the exam will be conducted in a public school under joint supervision with the school branch coordinator for students of Grade 12 admitted in paper format.

Review for Resit Exam

The dedicated team for the Ministry of Education (MoE) for preparing and reviewing the resit exam in public and private exams has begun the final preparation before the exam that will begin tomorrow, i.e., Friday.

Currently, the team is finalizing the review of all exam questions, which will be conducted entirely electronically. In addition, the process ensures appropriateness and accuracy for all targeted categories of students.

In addition, the team continues to monitor the technical and operational sides of the digital testing system. It also confirms system readiness and the availability of technical support throughout the examination to ensure smooth implementation with no disruption.

Exams are completely digital.

The ministry mentioned that resit exams are going to be performed in a digital format in an official announcement on its website.  Although there will be no paper-based option for this exam. However, students will only get the option to take the exam digitally.

No excuse will be accepted for the resit exam.

The ministry has also clarified that there will be no excuse (even with a valid one) accepted to retake the test. Moreover, this policy showed the need for students to be present and adhere to the published exam schedule.

The ministry mentioned that the resit exam for the end of the 2024-2025 academic year will focus only on third-term content for students in Grades 3 to 12. In addition, the students must be from public and private schools, following the national syllabus.

There is no maximum limit on the number of subjects anyone can retake. Students are allowed to be a part of resit exams, regardless of the number of subjects they failed.

Certificates could be held.

The Ministry of Education has revealed the three reasons that could hold the certificate of students. As per the FAQs section in the digital platform of the ministry, the certificate will be held due to the following reasons:

  • Financial obligation
  • Failure to return the computer device issued by the school.
  • Failure to update the personal information.

Guardians are advised to contact the school administration to resolve the problem.  It will provide you with further details where you want to complete the necessary process.
