UAE Declares Eid Al Fitr 2025 Holidays for Private Sector Workers
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has announced Eid Al Fitr holidays for private sector employees in the UAE.
As per the ministry’s statement, the official holiday will run from Sunday, March 30, to Tuesday, April 1, 2025. However, if Ramadan lasts 30 days, the break will be extended to Wednesday, April 2. All private sector employees will receive these days as paid holidays in celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
💼 Paid Leave Entitlements for Private Sector
Employees in the private sector are entitled to full paid leave during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, as per UAE labour laws. Companies are advised to plan ahead and ensure a smooth workflow either side of the break.
✈️ Travel, Leisure & Planning Tips
Eid is not just a religious holiday — it’s also a perfect time to unwind. Whether you’re planning to travel, catch up with family, or simply relax, make your bookings early. Demand for transport, accommodation, and attractions usually spikes during this time.
Employers should also prepare for potential leave requests or extended absences and adjust schedules where necessary.
🔭 Final Confirmation Depends on Moon Sighting
While tentative dates have been shared, the final confirmation of Eid holidays will come after the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon. Official announcements are typically made by the UAE’s moon-sighting committee closer to the end of Ramadan.
