Mirai Movie Review: Teja Sajja Shines in a Mythological Superhero Spectacle

Mirai Movie Review: Currently, the Indian Cinema is seeing a mythological revival. Now, Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, is the latest film to attract the audience’s attention. After the blockbuster success of HanuMan, expectations were sky-high for this underdog-turned-superhero saga directed by Karthik Gattamneni and released under People Media Factory. Now, the film is sparking conversation across the globe, including movie lovers in the UAE.

Storyline and Mythological Roots

The film took inspiration from the nine sacred scriptures of the Emperor Ashoka. However, Ashoka sends nine warriors to protect these scriptures to prevent the rise of evil.  So, Mahabir Lama (Manchu Manoj), a ruthless antagonist, seeks to gather all nine to achieve immortality centuries later.

Veda (Teja Sajja), a young man unaware of his divine powers, enters the story. He is destined to protect Dharma. Later, Ambika (Shriya Saran) and Vibha (Ritika Nayak) intervene in his journey to a high-stakes race for the ninth scripture Amaragrandham, and the ultimate weapon—Mirai.

Performances

  • Teja Sajja delivers a powerful performance, as he maintains the emotional depth with intense action. His transformation from Veda to Yodha is convincing and rooted in sincerity.
  • Manchu Manoj impresses with a ferocious portrayal of Mahabir Lama. So, it was a strong comeback as an antagonist.
  • Shriya Saran, as Ambika, brings gravitas to her divine role. Moreover, Jayaram as Rishi Agastya adds freshness with his Gen-Z styled cameo.
  • Ritika Nayak plays her part well, though her character has a limited scope.

Technical Brilliance

The background score of Gowra Hari stands out, particularly in the pre-interval Himalayan sequence, where you will see a giant eagle. However, the visual effects are even. Still, it succeeds in delivering some breathtaking frames under the modest budget of around ₹60 crores. Moreover,  the direction, cinematography, and screenplay by Karthik Gattamneni have a clear vision. Hence, it feels like a blend of myth, fantasy, and a Chandamama Katha.

Verdict On Mirai Movie Review

The movie has a pace issue and unnecessary comedy in the first half. Still, Mirai rise with five executed blocks, i.e,  the transformation, antagonist backstory, Jaithraya song montage, Lord Rama climax, and the eagle sequence.

Mirai is a must-watch theatrical experience for the UAE audience and Indian cinema lovers throughout the world. Moreover, this movie offers goosebumps, mythology, and a larger-than-life superhero tale. So, you can invest your time in this movie to experience something unique.
