Monthly Rent Payments UAE: New System to Transform Rental Market From 2026

A significant change is coming to the UAE’s housing sector, as a modern, flexible model will soon replace the long-standing cheque-based rental system. Property Finder and Keyper have announced a strategic collaboration that will introduce the Monthly Rent Payments UAE.

The new system will give residents the long-awaited option to pay rent in affordable instalments instead of the large lump sums. However, this move aims to reduce financial pressure and align the UAE with global rental standards.

The End of the One-to-Four Cheque Cycle

The UAE rental market has followed the traditional one-to-four cheque cycle, where tenant must pay their full annual rent in only a few post-dated cheques. However, this system was widely criticised because of the following reasons:

  • Creates heavy upfront financial stress
  • Limits housing flexibility
  • Makes budgeting difficult for residents
  • Affects newcomers who don’t have immediate liquidity

This outdated model has finally begun to fade out with the Monthly Rent Payments UAE.

What Will the Monthly Rent Payments UAE System Offer?

Tenants are going to be able to pay rent every month under the upcoming system using the following methods:

  • Credit cards
  • Direct debit
  • Digital wallets
  • Banking apps

This makes the entire renting process more convenient, digital, and predictable.  Moreover, the rent-in-instalment technology of Keyper had already handled Dh2 million in rental demand. Now, it will be fully integrated with the Property Finder platform to make Monthly Rent Payments UAE more flexible.

When Does It Start?

According to Property Finder, the rollout of monthly rent payments UAE will begin in early 2026.  However, the feature will debut on select listings before expanding throughout the world.

By mid-2026, residents across the UAE will be able to browse properties on the Property Finder app and choose the option to pay monthly instead of committing to large upfront cheques.

Leaders Speak on the Transformation

Michael Lahyani, Founder and CEO of Property Finder, said, “By easing the financial burden of upfront payments, we are helping tenants to develop themselves more easily and create long-term roots in the country”.

Keyper CEO Omar Abu Innab also added, “Monthly rents are global norms, and the UAE is catching up quickly. Renters gain flexibility while landlords get certainty”.

Both leaders have highlighted that the Monthly Rent Payments UAE will improve transparency, accessibility, and convenience for all stakeholders.
