Leaders Tour the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi Ahead of Public Opening

After the grand opening ceremony, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, toured the museum. However, their visit has underscored the UAE’s growing commitment to sustainability, scientific education, and global conservation efforts.
Sheikh Khaled highlighted that the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi stands as a symbol of the nation’s leadership in natural science. Therefore, it gives a knowledge-rich environment that motivates research, curiosity, and innovation. Moreover, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the museum strengthens the commitment of the nation as a global hub for knowledge, creativity and evidence-based thinking.
Opening to the Public on November 22

The museum will officially open its doors to the public on 22nd November 2025. Hence, it will offer a transformative journey for visitors of all ages. In addition, it has become the newest addition to the Saadiyat Cultural District’s world-class institutions. Moreover, it will now join Louvre Abu Dhabi, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, and the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

Inside the Iconic Exhibits: Dinosaurs, Megafauna & Regional Wonders
World’s First Sauropod Dinosaur Herd Display
Here, you can encounter a world-first exhibition featuring a herd of five massive sauropods—two diplodocids, one Brachiosaurus, one Kaatedocus, and one Barosaurus. However, they are arranged in a lifelike prehistoric formation. Plus, this unique setup allows visitors to walk among the toes of giants.
The Star Attraction: Battling T. Rexes

The museum also features the first-ever display of Tyrannosaurus rex fossils locked in combat over a fallen Triceratops. Moreover, one of the most complete T. rex skeletons ever discovered at its centre stands “Stan”.
A Blue Whale Like Never Before
The museum also has an 85-foot blue whale skeleton to offer an awe-inspiring encounter rarely seen in other museums in the world. However, it was discovered in Nova Scotia in 2021. In addition, it hovers just 10 feet above the ground.
