The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has confirmed that Friday, 5th of September, 2025 (12th Rabi Al Awwal) is going to be a public holiday for federal government employees to mark the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday UAE holiday 2025.
The official announcement means that federal employees are going to enjoy a three-day weekend, as the holiday matches the regular Saturday and Sunday weekend. The International Astronomy Center in the UAE confirmed that the crescent of Rabi Al Awwal was not seen on 23, August 2025, Saturday. However, many countries, like Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Tunisia began the Islamic month on Sunday, August 24.
Meanwhile, the UAE, Oman, Algeria, Mauritania, Libya, and Morocco began the new Islamic month on the 25th of July 2025. Similarly, Asian countries, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore initiate the new month on the same date.
