Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially introduced the second phase of its initiative to modernize waiting areas at key marine transport stations across the emirates. In addition, phase two of the marine transport upgrade is a significant step towards boosting the public transportation service.

This development is going to include the five prominent stations mentioned below:
- Al Fahidi
- Baniyas
- Al Seef
- Sheikh Zayed Road
- Bluewaters
The upgrade will further include air-conditioned waiting areas, dedicated zones for people of determination, and designs that align with the international safety and inclusivity standards.
The revamped stations mix the heritage elements with sleek and modern aesthetics inspired by Dubai’s traditional wooden abras. Thus, it celebrates the rich maritime legacy of the emirate in a contemporary style.

Khalaf Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said, “This project is a part of the long-term strategy of RTA to boost marine transport infrastructure that matches the vision of Dubai of world-class service for residents and tourists”.
