RTA to Launch New Exit to Ras Al Khor Road in August, Reducing Commute Time by 54%

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to open a new exit in early August. Moreover, this new exit is a part of the Rapid Traffic Solution Plan of the RTA. In addition, it aims to significantly reduce congestion near Ras Al Khor Road, especially during the peak hours.  Moreover, this move matches the ongoing efforts to improve the road infrastructure in Dubai.

New Exit to Enhance Traffic Flow in Key Areas

The new traffic connection will branch off the collector road near the Bu Kadra interchange. Therefore, it will provide you with direct access to Ras Al Khor Road. Furthermore, this area is an important corridor bordering the major residential, commercial, and industrial zones.

The new exit is expected to reduce the travel time from 13 minutes to only 6 minutes as part of the RTA’s strategic traffic enhancement. Thus, it shows the improvement of 54% in the travel time.

The project shows RTA’s continued commitment to match road network development with the rapid urban expansion in Dubai.

Part of the Rapid Traffic Solutions Plan

As we mentioned before, the new exit is an important component of the RTA’s Rapid Traffic Solution plan. Notably, it is a city-wide initiative aimed at optimizing road capacity and reducing congestion.  Moreover, this plan includes many upgrades in and around Ras Al Khor and adjacent areas.

The expansion of Exit 25 on Ras Al Khor Road is one of the major enhancements of this project. It connects to  Al Khail Road and Al Meydan Street. Moreover, the exit was broadened from one lane to two lanes across a 500-metre stretch. Therefore, it effectively doubled its capacity from 1500 to 3000 vehicles per hour. So, this expansion has led to a 43% reduction in peak time, from 7 minutes to 4 minutes.

Impact on Dubai’s Road Infrastructure

This project highlights the forward-thinking of Dubai’s RTA on sustainable urban mobility. Moreover, it highlights the new exit and expansion of the existing roadways. Therefore, the city continues to provide efficient and time-saving transport solutions to its residents and visitors.
