The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is poised to be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of 2026, as it will combine speed, intelligence, and precision in a single premium device. Moreover, Samsung is poised to raise the benchmark for flagship smartphones once again, as the Galaxy Unpacked event is expected in late January. However, the UAE retail availability is expected for mid-February.

After years of limited wireless charging speeds, Samsung is finally catching up to the global rivals by introducing 25W Qi 2.2 wireless charging and 60W wired charging on the S26 Ultra, which is a major leap from the  S25 Ultra’s 15W wireless limit.

Faster, Smarter Charging for Modern Users

Samsung has been criticised for lagging behind Chinese competitors in charging technology. Now, a new report from the ET Times claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature 25W wireless charging, powered by Qi 2.2 support.

Hence, this indicates that the long wait for Samsung fans has finally come to an end due to the Samsung S26 Ultra. In addition, it allows users to magnetically snap their phone onto compatible charging pads and accessories for a secure and faster charging experience.

The most flagship Android phones from brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus already deliver 50W wireless speeds. Hence, the decision of Samsung to finally boost the charging efficiency is a big step toward closing this performance gap.

In addition, the wired charging speed is being upgraded to 60W, which can significantly reduce the full 0–100% charge time for its 5,000mAh battery.  Hence, the company adopted a balanced approach to focus on charging optimisation rather than just larger battery capacity. Moreover, it promises better power efficiency and improved battery health over time.

Camera Upgrades of Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Expanding the Field of View

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra also bring enhancements to its camera setup, including an updated selfie camera with a wider 85-degree field of view. However, the sensor and resolutions remain the same as the S25 Ultra. Hence, this upgrade ensures that users can capture wider group selfies with ease.

Samsung is focusing on refining its imaging performance rather than inflating megapixel count. Plus, the smartphone will have the following features:

  • 24MP default resolution for sharper, more detailed images.
  • HDR10+ support and adaptive pixel technology for better colour accuracy and dynamic range.
  • A 12MP telephoto lens and larger apertures to enhance low-light photography.

These camera enhancements are combined with the new Camera Assistant app from Samsung. Hence, it allows users to manually adjust focus speed and fine-tune photo settings for professional-grade results.

Snapdragon Takes the Lead — Globally

Qualcomm Snapdragon processors are one of the biggest shifts in Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra specs for 2026 throughout the world, which will replace the Exynos 2600 from the flagship lineup. However, this decision ensures consistent performance across all markets, including the UAE, and addresses long-standing customers’ concerns over Exynos-based devices underperforming compared to their Snapdragon counterparts.

This change might impact the in-house chipset division of Samsung. Hence, it is a win for users, as it guarantees stable performance, better thermal efficiency, and improved gaming capabilities.

Design Insights: Familiar Yet Functional

Leak renders have revealed that the design of the S26 Ultra closely copies the S25 Ultra. However, it will have a slightly larger hole-punch camera (4mm). Despite this, the bezels remain nearly identical, which is a subtle indication that Samsung is not chasing the ultra-slim bezel trend dominating brands like Oppo and Xiaomi. Instead, the company is aiming for reliability and function over aggressive design compromise.

What to Expect at the Galaxy Unpacked Event

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 Ultra alongside the S26 and S26+ models during the Galaxy Unpacked event 2026 in late January 2026.  However, all 3 variants are rumoured to support faster wireless charging (20W for the S26 and S26+) and include built-in magnetic rings for Qi 2.2 compatibility.

The Ultra S26 stand as the boldest flagship of Samsung due to its blend of faster charging, refined camera features, and Snapdragon power. In addition, it is designed for professionals, content creators, and power users who demand more from their smartphones.
