Sendle informed customers via email on Sunday that it would immediately stop all parcel pickup and delivery bookings. According to the Daily Mail, the company stated in an email that it was halting all bookings for parcel pickup and delivery, effective immediately.

Sendle added that parcels already in transit may still be delivered. However, it will be only at the discretion of third-party delivery partners such as eBay-linked couriers. Moreover, the company also apologised for the disruption and thanked customers for their support over the years.

The company highlighted that it had delivered over 65 million parcels across three countries and promoted carbon-neutral shipping for small businesses since its launch.

Why Did Sendle Shutdown?

Reason behind Sendle Closing Down Australia

The closure is closely tied to financial turmoil at FAST Group, which was formed in August 2025 after Sendle merged with US-based FirstMile and ACI Logistix.

According to FreightWaves, key investor Federation Asset Management froze redemptions in its $100 million fund after discovering significant deficiencies in ACI Logistix’s financial statements post-merger. Later, the federation injected emergency funding, replaced senior leadership, and appointed a restructuring officer. Still, the group continues to face a serious cash crunch.

FAST Group risks filing for US bankruptcy protection if it fails to secure up to $60 million in financing. As of now, the company has revealed no resolution related to this.

What Should You Do Now?

It would be best to prepare for the uncertainty from this company. However, you can expect the following:

  • Pending deliveries may still arrive via third-party couriers
  • Refunds or claims will likely depend on delivery partners, not Sendle
  • FAST Group’s future hinges on emergency financing or restructuring

The logistics experts recommend confirming shipping providers and avoiding Sendle-linked routes until clarity emerges for the UAE-based sellers and buyers. However, this developing story highlights the growing risks in global e-commerce logistics, where rapid mergers can expose deep financial vulnerabilities.
