Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 Brings Interactive ‘Poetry Pharmacy’ and Detective-Themed Experiences

The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 (SIBF) has opened its doors until the 16th of November 2025 at the Expo Centre Sharjah. Now, the fair has introduced visitors to an immersive literary world under the theme “Between You and a Book.”  Moreover, the fair promises a unique mix of literature, science, and creativity. Moreover, it allows visitors to take ‘poetic pills’ for the soul and explore the world of science via storytelling.

Khoula Al Mujaini, the general coordinator of SIBF, told Khaleej Times that this season is created to transform how people connect with books. 

Moreover, Al Mujaini said, “As usual, we arrange cultural panels, kids’ workshops, cookery shows, and professional sessions.  However, we are introducing new topics such as archaeology, mathematics, physics, and science to reach a wider audience this year.”

During the conversation, she highlighted that the goal is to keep literature dynamic and inclusive. Moreover, she said, “Every year we try to make reading relevant to all generations”. 

The ‘Poetry Pharmacy’: Healing Through Words

Poetry pharmacy is one of the most innovative additions to this fair this year. However, it is a concept that is originally attracted from the UK that treats literature as a therapy. In this session, visitors like you can pick from poetry pills, which are the capsules filled with verses from poets around the world. Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 has also introduced innovative programming. Actually, you are also allowed to join an interactive play where you can become the detective yourself.  Al Mujaini clarified, “It is not a treasure hunt. The audience is required to read a book, follow clues, and think like they are investigators to solve the puzzles. It is a creative method to link literature and participation”. This initiative makes the SIBF what Al Mujaini called a living storybook, where every participant becomes part of the unfolding narrative.
