The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat of the UAE has requested muslims across the nations to perform eclipse prayer (Salat al-Khusuf) tomorrow evening, i.e, the 7th of September 2025, because a rare astronomical event will grace the skies.
This decision comes after the confirmation from the International Astronomical Centre that a total lunar eclipse will happen tomorrow from 8:27 pm, peaking at 10:12 pm, and ending at 11:57 pm.
Religious Guidance on Eclipse Prayer
The Emirates Fatwa Council released a statement clarifying that the eclipse prayer is recommended for all adult men and women obligated to pray, regardless of whether it is a partial or total eclipse. Moreover, this practice has a greater spiritual importance to remind believers of the greatness of Allah’s creation and the importance of performing prayers during celestial events.
