The UAE Embassy in Ankara has released an urgent set for travel advisory for Emiratis visiting Turkey. In addition, the suggestions highlighted precautionary steps to ensure safety and a smooth travel experience.
The advisory comes after a tragic incident in Northern Turkey, where two Emirati citizens died and three others were injured in a tourist bus accident near the Balik Sea in the Çaykara district of Trabzon. As per Turkey’s IHA news agency, the bus changed direction suddenly and overturned near a riverbed. However, emergency crews rescued the trapped passengers and transported the injured to the state hospital.
Maryam Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, 18, and Abdul Majid Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, 32, were among those who died in this tragic incident. However, Ibrahim Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, 15, Samira Mohammed Abdul Rahman, 53, and Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, 60, are those who were injured in this accident. Notably, all victims belong to the same family.
Travel Advisory for Emiratis Visiting Turkey

- Register with “Twajudi”: You should sign up for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Twajudi service for safety tracking.
- Check Passport Validity: It would be best to ensure passports are valid for at least six months.
- Banking Preparations: You should verify if Turkey prefers bank cards or cash, and activate cards for international use.
- Review Travel Advisories: You must access the latest country-specific guidance via the ministry’s website or mobile app.
- Visa Requirements: It would be best to confirm visa procedures for domestic workers well ahead of departure.
- Document Safety: Keep copies of passports and IDs at all times.
- Traffic Compliance: Follow Turkish traffic rules to avoid fines or accidents.
- Vehicle Ownership Proof: Ensure vehicle documents match passport details.
