If you are planning to fly between the UAE and India, there is some good news for you as UAE-India Airfares could see a significant drop after the 8th of July. It means that India-bound flights from the major UAE airports have seen a significant decline in ticket prices.
This downward trend comes after the price hike for many cities, especially for the tier 2 cities. The hike to Dh2,500 to 3000 in early July (2-7 July). In this post, we will provide you with details about the price hike of airfare between the UAE and India.
Unusual Dip UAE-India Airfares on Busy routes After July 8
The airfares of UAE-India flights are breaking the seasonal norms by dropping to unexpected rates of Dh1,450 to Dh1600 after the 8th of July 2025. This drop is unusual at this time of the year. Fortunately, it is experiencing a drop in the hyper-busy locations. Here is the list of the top locations where the flight prices are seeing a price reduction:
- Mumbai from Dh 1161
- Thiruvanthapuram from Dh1565
- Bengaluru from Dh1604
Surprisingly, fares to these locations were average at Dh1800 (Mumbai) to Dh2700 (Bengaluru) in July-August 2024. Now, the price drop has significantly lowered compared to the last years.
Afi Ahmed (Chairman of Smart Travel) has revealed that onward prices are still a little high from now until July 7. There are no seats on flights to Kochi and Kozhikode in Kerala. Interestingly, the fares have dropped to lower than we have witnessed in the Summer of 2021 to 2022.
Ahmed also mentioned that these fares were dropped to their lowest for the previous time immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic, when air travel was at an all-time low because of the pandemic.
He further said that the return fare from mid-July until August end was Dh3000. However, the travel demand was urgent last year during this period, which doesn’t seem to be this year.
Why Are UAE-India Airfares Dropping This July? Experts Explain
Ahmed shared that they are experiencing a more manageable increase in India this July. He further said that the lowest off-season fares are not available yet, but the prices are now more attractive than the previous years. So, we have listed the top reasons behind this unusual drop below:
- Ongoing monsoon fear
The ongoing monsoon season in Kerala, especially in Kerala, is one of the top reasons behind the UAE-India airfare drop. Ahmed said that “People are fearing heavy rain and making their return at the end of July instead of August.”
- Changing travel patterns
Typically, Indian expatriate families plan their trip during the summer due to the two-month-long vacations from school. However, Ahmed said, “Nowadays, people are planning trips many times in a year instead of two months.”
- Off-Peak Travel by Couples and Singles
Couples and single individuals usually plan their trip home during the off-peak period. This is because the off-peak period offers a lower price as compared to the peak season.
- Rise in International Summer Travel
Instead of visiting India, the rising number of people are opting to explore alternative holiday destinations. Sapna Aidasani (Head of Marketing at Pluto Travels) said that passengers are now avoiding traveling to India for a longer duration of one to two months. They are returning sooner by choosing a shorter duration of 2 – 10 days.
She further said that they break their holidays again and choose to explore locations close to the UAE, like Azerbaijan or the Schengen nations (If their visas allow). She also said that many travelers have adjusted their plans and are considering destinations beyond India.
- Increase in flights
An increase in the number of flights could also be the reason behind the UAE-India airfare price. Several airlines have introduced many new routes to provide you with more options and stabilize the price.
We recommend that you book your flight ticket now to get the flight at the best fare because prices may fluctuate based on demand and availability.
