Ministry’s Seven Travel Safety Guidelines

The MoFA has urged citizens to follow seven safety measures when traveling in other nations to reduce risks and ensure safer travel. So, take a look at those guidelines below:

  1. Register in Twajudi – It is a free service enabling citizens to receive immediate support in emergencies.
  2. Carry digital copies of important documents– You should carry documents, like passports, visas, and ID cards.
  3. Check passport validity – Passports must be valid for at least six months.
  4. Save the emergency hotline – +97180024 is available 24/7 worldwide.
  5. Get international health insurance – It is essential to cover unexpected medical expenses abroad.
  6. Follow official advisories – Stay updated with alerts from the UAE and destination authorities.
  7. Avoid valuables – Do not carry enormous sums of cash or wear expensive jewelry while traveling.

Additional Travel Recommendations

Besides the suggestions mentioned above, the MoFA has shared some other tips to enhance travel safety. So, we have mentioned those measures below:

  • Health Preparedness – Citizens should take recommended vaccinations, including influenza, and check the medical requirements of their destination.
  • Financial Security – Notify banks before traveling to avoid blocked cards and carry sufficient funds.
  • Legal Compliance – Respect local laws, traditions, and traffic rules to avoid legal complications.
  • Emergency Services – Citizens abroad can also access the “Doctor for Every Citizen” telehealth service.

The ministry highlighted that the Twajudi Service and the emergency hotline (0097180024) are important lifelines for citizens abroad.  In addition, the UAE travelers can ensure a safer and more secure international journey while benefiting from the Ministry’s round-the-clock support by following these guidelines.
