UAE Named Safest Country in the World in 2025: Abu Dhabi, Dubai Lead Global City Rankings

According to the Numbeo Safety Index 2025 Mid-Year,  the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has once again secured the top position as the safest country in the world. It is a landmark recognition of its relentless focus on the security and quality of life. The UAE was ranked number one out of 148 countries by the global data aggregator. This reaffirms its status as the global leader in terms of public safety, low crime, and societal cohesion.  

UAE Scores 85.2 in Global Safety Index

According to Numbeo, the UAE scored an impressive 85.2, which outperforms 147 other countries. This high score shows the nation’s strong law enforcement mechanism and its social harmony with advanced surveillance infrastructure and inclusive policies that manage a population from more than 200 countries. 

The following countries get the position after the UAE in this ranking: 

  • Andorra (84.8)
  • Qatar (84.6)
  • Taiwan (83.0)
  • Macao (81.8)

It is important to note that the Gulf region is dominating the safety ranking of Numbeo. Oman ranked 6th (81.4), Saudi Arabia 14th (76.3), and Kuwait 38th (67.3).

 Abu Dhabi becomes the Safest City in the World

Besides being the safest country, the UAE also rules as the ranking of the safest city in the world.  The 88.8 score helped Abu Dhabi to become the safest city in the world. In addition, the following cities from this nation secured their position in the top 5: 

  • Ajman (85.5)
  • Dubai (83.9)
  • Ras Al Khaimah (83.8)
  • Sharjah (83.7)

Numbeo has also released the Crime Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year in a parallel analysis. Notably, the UAE ranked 148th, which is the lowest rank on the index. In addition, the nation has the crime index score of only a 14.8. 

 This means that the UAE is the nation that has the lowest crime rate in the world. It shows the effectiveness of its legal system, social program, and zero-tolerance policies against crime.
