The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has revealed the completion of the design phase of the National Unified Health Licensing Platform for healthcare professional registrations and licensing.
Notably, the platform is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of next year, i.e, 2026. This initiative is all set to use artificial intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge technology to streamline licensing for more than 200,000 practitioners per year.
A Single Gateway for All Healthcare Professionals
The platform aims to unify the registration and licensing process across the MoHAP, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Sharjah Health Authority (SHA).
Moreover, this will remove the repetitive application process for licensing. In addition, it allows healthcare professionals to create a single unified profile recognized across all authorities. Notably, MoHAP confirmed the platform is going to perform the following tasks:
- Analyze data and guide practitioners through application processes.
- Standardize evaluation of qualifications, experience, and certifications.
- Enable mutual recognition of medical evaluations nationwide.
- Reduce licensing times and eliminate bureaucratic delays.
Boosting the UAE’s Healthcare Competitiveness
The platform has the ability to perform many magics through integrating all health entities under one umbrella. Here are the top things that this platform will do:
- Reduce discrepancies in recruitment and service delivery.
- Ensure patient care meets international healthcare standards.
- Attract skilled professionals from around the world.
MoHAP said, “This strategic project will surely simplify the license process and boost mobility of all healthcare workers across the UAE without resubmitting the documents.
Four Core Strengths of the National Unified Health Licensing Platform
- Unified User Experience means a single application for all health authorities. So, it supports the government program of the “zero bureaucracy”.
- Nationwide integration is going to boost service quality and sector competitiveness.
- Stronger Collaboration between federal and local health regulators.
- Technical Interoperability because it will streamline processes, with no redundant requirements.
Supporting National Digital Transformation Goals
The National Unified Health Licensing Platform matches the broader national goal of the UAE. In addition, its design ensures ease of use, data security, and scalability. Thus, it will allow the new service to be added in the future.
When launched, it is expected to serve as a centralized digital hub that decreases the administrative burden and enhances practitioner mobility. Therefore, it will ensure faster and clearer healthcare services. So, it could strengthen the position of the UAE to be the global leader in innovative healthcare.
