UAE Weather Alert: NCM Warns of Rain, Strong Winds and Dust Storms

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued the UAE weather alert for several regions of the country. So, the authority has alerted residents about convective rainy clouds, strong winds, and dust storms that can impact the visibility and outdoor safety.

UAE Weather Alert Details

According to the NCM, winds are set to reach up to 50km/h, which can sweep through eastern and southern regions. In addition, these winds could extend into the interior regions of the country. Moreover, these conditions are expected to reduce horizontal visibility to less than 2000 meters. In addition, the alerts remain in effect until 11 pm tonight.

Authorities have requested the public to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel during the peak storm activity. In addition, you should strictly follow the official safety instructions. In particular, motorists are advised to drive safely and maintain a safe distance on the road because of sudden dust storms and changing weather conditions.

Temperature Update

Earlier today, the NCM reported that Al Farfar, Fujairah, saw the coolest temperature at 25°C  at 7:45 am. So, this drop offered a brief relief from the summer heat, especially in higher elevation regions where cooler weather is normal.

Forecast for Tomorrow

Looking ahead, the NCM predicted partly to mostly cloudy tomorrow, i.e, 21 August 2025. In addition, there will be a continued chance of convective cloud formation over the eastern and southern regions. So, this condition is expected to lead to light to moderate rain in the localized region.

Tomorrow, the winds are expected to remain light to moderate from Southeast to Northeast. In addition, these winds could gusts on the speed of up to 45 km/h. So, this could raise the chances of blowing dust and sand in the exposed areas of the country.

On the other hand, sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. So, these conditions are mostly safe for coastal activities with alertness.

Safety Advisory

The NCM and the UAE authorities are continuously highlighting the importance pg monitoring the official updates through the verified accounts. In addition, residents who are planning outdoor activities are requested to take necessary precautions. In addition, it would be best for motorists to remain alert to sudden weather changes because of dust and reduced visibility.
