UAE weather Dubai rain: Intense Rain, Strong Winds Disrupt Dubai, Abu Dhabi in Last days of 2025

The UAE Weather Dubai rain has taken a sharp turn as heavy rain and thunderstorms swept across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirates since Thursday afternoon. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), unstable weather conditions are expected to continue through the weekend.  Hence, residents are advised to stay cautious. Dubai rain has intensified on Friday morning, accompanied by gusty winds reaching up to 50km/h. Hence, it has caused blowing dust, reduced visibility, and rough sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Similar weather patterns have been reported in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and parts of Fujairah, with localised flooding seen on several roads.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed highlights the intensity of the ongoing condition. He shared a striking video of a lightning bolt striking the Burj Khalifa. Hence, it highlights the intensity of the ongoing storm.

The NCM stated that the nation has entered the peak phase of the ‘Al Bashayer’ low-pressure system, which could extend from the Red Sea. The system is causing cloud formations of different heights. Hence, it could lead to rainfall of different intensities, along with lightning, thunder, and possibly hail.

Saturday, December 20

Partly cloudy to cloudy at times. Moreover, rainfall is expected in coastal, northern, and eastern regions. Winds will be light to moderate, which could be strong occasionally. 

Sunday, December 21

The day will be partly cloudy overall. Moreover, low clouds will form over the islands, coastal, and western areas. In addition, there is a continued chance of rain, especially in the western region. Plus, seas are going to remain rough to moderate. 

Monday and Tuesday

Cloudy at intervals with humid conditions at night and early morning. Plus, winds will be lighter but might freshen at times. Moreover, the conditions of sea conditions could slightly improve.

Impact on Travel and Daily Life

Authorities have issued many advisories due to the severe UAE weather. Dubai Police have requested citizens to stay indoors unless its necessary. According to Khaleej Times, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence asked people to avoid flood-prone areas. 

Emirates and flydubai have cancelled or rescheduled several flights due to the severe weather. Moreover, Dubai International Airport advised passengers to allow extra travel time and consider using the Dubai Metro.

Commuters have faced waterlogging and traffic disruption in Sharjah and Dubai Investment Park. Unfortunately, one death has also been reported in Ras Al Khaimah after a wall collapsed during heavy rain.

Authorities across the  United Arab Emirates (UAE) continue to monitor the situation closely. Moreover, residents are advised to follow official updates, limit travel, and take precautions as unstable weather persists across the emirates.
