The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an update on the UAE weather forecast. So, the authority has warned residents to prepare for unsettled conditions tonight. Moreover, scattered showers, gustier winds, and soaring temperatures are all expected to impact parts of the country.
Clouds and Scattered Rain Likely in Eastern and Southern Regions
As per the NCM experts, clouds will slowly develop over the western and southern regions by evening. So, it would create conditions favorable for light rainfall. However, the chances of scattered showers could bring some relief to areas experiencing intense summer heat.
Winds Shifting Direction with Stronger Gusts
Forecasters predict that winds will initially blow from the southeast before shifting northeast at speeds of 10 km/hr to 25 km/h. However, gusts could reach up to 35 km/h in some areas. So, it could potentially reduce visibility on the road. Therefore, motorists have been advised to drive cautiously, particularly during sudden weather changes.
Temperatures Remain Extremely High
Despite the chance of rain, the temperature is going to remain harsh in the UAE.
- Abu Dhabi: High of 46°C, low of 34°C
- Dubai: High of 45°C, low of 34°C
- Coolest spot: Al Farfar in Fujairah recorded 24.8°C at 7:15 AM
The NCM mentioned that the heat is going to persist well into the evening. However, humidity levels are expected to increase overnight. So, it would create sticky and uncomfortable conditions for many residents.
On the other hand, the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are going to remain calm despite the wind change. However, the slight conditions are expected throughout the day in both nations.
Safety Advice for Residents
The NCM has requested the public to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity, and follow safety measures while driving. In addition, there is a chance of dust, lower visibility, and high humidity on the horizon. So, residents should stay alert for sudden changes in the weather. In short, you should take necessary steps throughout the day.
Expert Take on the UAE’s Summer Climate
Meteorologists suggest that such fluctuating hot weather is normal in the United Arab Emirates, where hot desert winds often interact with the coastal humidity. So, these conditions could create unstable skies. However, the combination offers short-lived relief. Still, the combination of heat and humidity is expected to continue to challenge residents across the country.
